“Truly unique Apulian food and culture experience based in Putignano”

An adventure of food and culture in the Italian region of Puglia. Based in the charming town of Putignano, guests will experience the true Apulian way of life in an area largely untouched by tourism. Accommodation, food classes and other activities are all within walking distance of the historic centre. All packages include a bonus trip to nearby Matera, as well as options available for additional days.

Arrival Day – Meet and greet to sample local cuisine, review the schedule, check-in to your accommodation and discuss the options for your first evening in Putignano.

Day 2 – Start with a classic Italian breakfast experience at Mirum www.mirumpuglia.it/menu, followed by a tour of local vendors to shop for ingredients to prepare meals. You will get the chance to meet and interact with the Putignano locals, all the while snacking on traditional treats.

Relax and explore Piazza Plebiscito, home of Mirum, the church of San Pietro Apostolo and the museum Romanazzi Carducci.

Meet back at Mirum and it is time for your Italian family lunch while sampling local wines.

Day 3 – The ultimate experience, spend a day visiting Matera. A guided tour of the historic Sassi, bring your walking shoes because you won’t want to miss a thing.

Stay in your comfortable from your convenient base in Putignano, guests will have an option to explore the best of Puglia, including a walking tour or half-day catamaran experience of the famous Polignano a Mare, a chance to explore the historic caves of Castellana Grotte, or wander amongst the trullo in the charming village of Alberobello all located on the adriatic sea.

Come for the cooking and cultural experience and stay as long as you desire.

Transfer to/from airport, to/from Matera, Castellana Grotte, Alberobello and Polignano a Mare included. Group size limited to twenty. Transfers to any destinations not part of the core package can be arranged at a small extra cost.

On arrival in Putignano, guests will be shown to their comfortable accommodation based in the historic old town…

The following day starts at 8.30am with breakfast at Mirum in Piazza Plebiscito – walking distance from your accommodation. Then we start our journey to the fruit and veg market of Putignano to buy everything we will need for the cooking class.

Back at Mirum, we will begin the truly unique experience of preparing a traditional Apulian lunch, making the local orecchiette pasta, focaccia, taralli and rolled veal from scratch!

After having fun we will visit the mother church San Pietro Apostolo and the Museo Romanazzi Carducci.
